NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS! MARZIPAN HAS USES ALL YEAR ROUND.
Before we talk marzipan, I want to apologize for any inconvenience I have caused you in the past couple of days. My website was down due to an error with a plugin. Unfortunately, I couldn’t even get to my admin page to check things out. (Not that I would have known what to do.) Today, I contacted BlueHost and had a wonderful chat with one of their representatives. My site was up and running in no time! I am ever so thankful to those who know more about the technology I use than I do.
Not so long ago, I came across a recipe that called for marzipan. I spent the better part of an afternoon trying to track down some marzipan. I remembered I had seen some at one local store around Christmas last year and headed there. With fingers and toes crossed, I ventured into the store and, after looking around with no luck, asked the staff if they had any marzipan. The answer I got did not surprise me. They usually get marzipan in around Christmas. As you probably know, marzipan (aka almond paste) is often used as a topping for fruitcake. This did not really surprise me. Until now, I, too, had always associated marzipan with Christmas and fruitcake.
With my website down, I was puttering, rather mindlessly, around the Internet. I am always on the lookout for good information – information that backs up my philosophy about food, health and fitness. Guess what I found? Without actually looking for a recipe for marzipan, I found a recipe for marzipan. Serendipity!
